As a favourite for local businessman and factory workers alike its local charm never failed to pull in the clientele.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 it was rebranded as Sekforde Arms and undertook a refurbishment. During this time a plaque of beige tiles to the left of the Sekforde Street entrance, featuring the \u2018flying tankard\u2019, a raised \u2018Toby\u2019, and \u2018THE HOUSE OF TOBY\u2019. was uncovered.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Scope of Work&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.3&#8243; header_6_font_size=&#8221;21px&#8221; header_6_line_height=&#8221;1.4em&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;left&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<strong>Scope of Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Williams Restoration undertook the <strong>award winning<\/strong> restoration of the Sekforde Arms facades. This included the removal of cementitious render and cementitious masonry mortar and replacing this with a sympathetic Lime mortar. This was used in conjunction with locally sourced materials. Once complete a soot wash was applied to the brickwork, this was to tone down the appearance of the new brickwork to match the existing and surrounding properties.<\/p>\n<p>Williams Restoration have been named\u00a0as the &#8216;Restoration Specialist&#8217;\u00a0responsible for the award winning project\u00a0at The Sekforde Arms.<br \/>RIBA London Award 2018 and RIBA\u00a0London Sustainability Award 2018<br class=\"\" \/>Read about the award.
